Exam-week...

Two days of sunshine, and lovely weather, I do not to be sitting here by my computer.
Yesterday I went for a walk, and I am considering doing the same today,
I've lost that burning flame of energy, the stubbornness.

Yet I should probably concentrate on the upcoming  exams.
Tomorrow, Monday I have one in "chartering and marine economy"and on Wednesday I have another exam for "ship security officer".  On Thursday, my thesis is due, and on March the 18th it is time for opposition on the thesis... "sigh"

I see the light in the tunnel, yet, I feel so tired, so tired of it all... 

But I guess, everything will turn out for the best in due time.

Tomorrow, the first day of the last term at KMA

It has been a few very relaxing weeks, featuring birthday, christmas, new year with a birthday surprise. I spent new years at my brother and it was great, I look forward to leave Småland for Stockholm, or at least move further north, closer to them.

I'm 30 years young now, as of the 23rd of december, and my brothers and their families gave me a trip with an air balloon for prezzie. YeY, I am certain that it is going to be great fun, I just have to remember not to forget my camcorder.

My grandparents gave my a pocket-flask that has a great deal of family history to it.
From my mother I got a gold ring, both for my birthday and to celebrate that I got my 2nd officer license. And my father gave me a beautiful knife that he in turn got from a lapp, he met a few years back.

Now, it is the last day of my presumably last educational holiday, it feels a bit strange, but at the same time it feels great to be able to see the light in the end of the tunnel. I'll have to start looking for jobs now, at the same time i'm at university. It will most probably be a very hectic spring, but everything will turn out for the best. <-- Self Affirmation...

Well, I better go back to the preparations, one of my teachers were kind enough to give us work for the holiday, but I refused, I really needed the break. So I'll have to take care of that now instead.

Granskning...

Idag har det i media talats mycket om Sofia Arkelsten, och bland annat Expressen och Expressen TV lägger fram Sofias deltagande i ett miljöseminarium så som en skandal. Detta på grund av att Shell bjudit in henne i egenskap av Moderaternas talesperson i miljöfrågor. Och vidare betalat hennes resa och boende på plats.
Något vi skattebetalare egentligen borde vara tacksamma för, eller hur ?

Med lite vilja kan allting vinklas till att underbygga den ståndpunkt man själv har, och det anser jag att Expressen gör i detta fallet. På expressens första sida står bland annat att läsa "Här berömmer Sofia Arkelsten oljejätten i riksdagen".

Efter en lång "inledning" framförd av reportern Christian Körner kommer de lösryckta meningar Expressen valt ut. Och det Sofia säger, med avseende på "Shell" är citat :
"Till och med bensinbolag som Shell och Preem pratar om klimatfrågorna, och det är bra. Jag tror att de stora förändringarna kommer att ske i de mest utskällda branscherna."

Jag arbetar som vissa känner till, till sjöss, och närmare bestämt på tankfartyg, så jag kan understryka att allt det Sofia sade redan 2008 är sant. Dessutom är jag övertygad om att de stora förändringarna har påbörjats, och måste fortsätta för att inte säga intensifieras i just den bransch där jag själv arbetar. Oljebranchen är utskälld, och ur många aspekter med rätta, men det finns ljuspunkter, precis som det gör på en nattsvart himmel. Förändringar och förbättringar ur miljösynpunkt är inte ett nödvändigt ont, utan en självklarhet. Att nämnda bolag själva deltar i miljödiskussionen är ju verkligen positivt !

Att Shell väljer att premiera ett forum för diskussion, och kontakt skapande kan knappast ses som negativt. Det borde snarare ses som ett steg i en riktning där företag, regeringar, till och med privatpersoner, samarbetar för att skapa bättre och bättre miljöförhållanden inför framtiden. Det är vidare min uppfattning att det är en större "synd" att inte tacka ja till en möjlighet att delta i dylika forum, än det är att Shell i just detta fallet valt att stå för de tillresandes rese- och boendekostnader.

Oavsett om det är ett PR-jippo för bränslesnåla bilar eller ett seminarium, så är kontakt knytande A och O. Möjligheten att träffa studenterna, och delta i seminariet, anser jag är minst sagt goda skäl till att åka, att denna möjlighet till kontakt knytande dessutom inte belastat statskassan är ju en ren bonus !

Jag tror på Sofia Arkelsten, och hennes förmåga att utveckla Moderaterna och bidra till Sveriges utveckling. Jag tror vidare att miljöarbetet måste ske unisont, vi måste alla entusiasmeras dra åt samma håll. Jag tror att företagen, precis som miljöorganisationerna måste beredas plats i miljödiskussionerna, första steget till förståelse ligger i kommunikation.

Open thine eyes, and look upon our wondrous world.

Struggle, though not by force, but with logic, understanding and sympathy. 

Require nothing less, or more from your fellow beings !

The Swedish politics are flawed, what can we do but try to correct it ? 

Love is paramount, but it is not the point I am trying to make. 

Love is worthless if it is unanswered, 

and in our society of today, there are no respect, no understanding, no tolerance.

 And it is our own fault, it is our flawed politics that has been in effect since the 70-ies. 

We can not expect any inhabitants of this country to evolve, and better themselves, unless they are spurred to do so. I see a government, trying to correct this flawed politics, yet they do it somewhat covertly since, the people of this country is indoctrinated to believe in the tired phrase :

"From each according to his ability, to each according to his need".

We all have rights, but we must never forget our obligations ! 

We must all take responsibility of our own lifes, and we must demand of everyone to strife to do the same. To become a citizen, a fellow citizen who will abide with law, rules and obligations as well as enjoy our rights.

We must be able to feel sympathy with those less fortunate in our society, and we must help them by helping them to be able to help themselves. We cannot have a society where a party of discontent feeds its flame, only because we are afraid to discuss the problems our flawed politics have given us.

We have indeed a problem, and together we must try to correct this problem. 

We must strife to find an all-party solution to this problem. It will not be easy, but big battles seldom are. 

It can not be done by deception, or evasion, it must be done together.

Do not stop at the symptom of the problem, find the cause, 

and correct the problem by removing the cause.

In Swedish - Sverige står inför en ny utmaning !

Sverige står inför en ny utmaning ! 

Det är min uppfattning att vi inte kan annat än att gilla läget, skademinimera, 

och tillse att det inträffade inte inträffar på nytt eller förvärras.

Jag tror att SD måste behandlas som vilket annat parti som helst, de representerar ju trots allt en del av den Svenska befolkningen. Att begränsa SD’s möjligheter att just representera tror jag i förlängningen är att skapa sig en naturkatastrof som bara väntar på att få inträffa.

Att valsystemet behöver ses över råder det inget tvivel om, men det måste skötas på ett sätt som är snyggt. Ett sätt som innebär att så få som möjligt ser det som ett otillbörligt försök att fördela ”makten” så att det gynnar vissa partier, och missgynnar andra.

Att blunda för ”problemet” är inte en godtagbar möjlighet.

För övrigt blir jag rysligt trött när "experter" menar, på fullt allvar, att människor röstar "si eller så" på grund av grupptryck. De menar således på fullt allvar att Svenska folket är en massa, utan egen karaktär och eget tänkande !

Jag tror mer än så om innevånarna i Sverige.

Det är min övertygelse att det i mångt och mycket är proteströster som givit SD de mandat de hitintills blivit tilldelade. Det är synd att de inte hittade ett annat alternativ än just SD. 

Jag har ganska bestämda åsikter, och har haft sedan barnsben, men visst finns det tillfällen då jag lyssnar och påverkas av andra i mina beslut, men det är knappast ett grupptryck. Jag tar ansvar för mina beslut, och skulle aldrig skylla ett av mina beslut på någon annan !

Men om nu det Svenska Folket är så som experterna anser en "massa" utan karaktär och eget tänkande, så tycker jag det är hög tid att "Folket" lär sig att ta konsekvenserna av sitt egen handlande. Tvingas släppa tanken på att staten tänker åt ”mig”, och accepterar att vi inte bara har rättigheter här i livet, utan minst lika många skyldigheter.

Och i den processen så formas förhoppningsvis det smala brosksnöret om till en ryggrad !

Avslutningsvis hoppas jag att onsdagsrösterna har en positiv effekt på valresultatet. En effekt som stabiliserar den hönsgård, eller "kindergarten" som Svensk politik förändrats till sedan kvällen den 19 September.

För att lösa det problemet som Sverige har skapat sig självt så måste vi ha en stark, och tydlig majoritets regering. En regering som förutom att leda Sverige under en svår kris, visat sig vara flexibel och innovativ. En regering som kan ta till sig problemet, lösa de bakomliggande orsakerna, och därigenom oskadliggöra problemet.

För mig är den regeringen en stark Allians regering, som har en tydlig kurs utlagd mot ett bättre Sverige !

Några tankar om valet, livet och politiken... In Swedish !

Om några timmar är det så valdag.

Och ledarna för de kommande 4 åren skall utses. 

Till en början trodde jag det skulle bli en intressant valrörelse, men jag måste säga att

det än en gång bevisades att det enda av de två ”blocken” som har en god planering inför nästa mandatperiod är Alliansen.

Jag tycker det är skrämmande att se att de RödGröna ständigt återfaller till skrämselpropaganda !? 

Jag dessutom inte förstå hur man tänker när man anser att det är bättre att importera kol och oljekraft än satsa på kärnkraften. Varför påstår jag nu att de RödGröna anser det, jo...

Med tanke på att Sverige trots allt ligger i Nordeuropa, varför solcellers effektivitet i förhållande till nödvändig yta kan ifrågasättas. Vindkraft är en underbar lösning, om det bara blåste tillräckligt. Nog för att man kan ha motvind medan man går runt ett helt kvarter i Karlskrona, men jag tror inte det är riktigt det som avses med stadig vind. Så har vi vattenkraft, som också är en underbar förnyelsebar energikälla, frågan är bara ifall alla Norrländska älvar skall tas i anspråk för vårt energibehov ?

Alltså, med den RödGröna kursplaneringen kommer Sverige bli storimportör av elektricitet, men målet var ju att vi skulle exportera, eller hur !? 

Det sägs att vi här i Sverige har en stor kunskap på bland annat kärnkraftsområdet.

Jag har ett vagt minne av att Svenska experter bland annat var i Ignalina i Litauen och assisterade vid kärnkraftverket där. Så öppnandet för möjligheten att utveckla kunnandet och modernisera våra egna reaktorer anser jag vara oerhört viktigt. Det kan till och med leda till att vi kan bidra till Europas om inte hela världens utveckling. Det finns forskning på bland annat reaktorer med en halv kritisk massa. Det innebär att kärnreaktionen hålls vid liv utifrån, och fortfarande ger ett positivt utbyte. Så om man bryter tillförseln av neutroner så bryts processen, kärnreaktionen stannar. Det vill säga, att en härdsmälta mer eller mindre är en omöjlighet.

Dessutom kan den typen av reaktorer drivas på slutprodukter från andra äldre typer av reaktorer. Med andra ord, en reaktors skräp, blir en annans bränsle, och i processen så minskas halveringstiden avsevärt. 

Detta är att jämföras med andra fossila bränslen så som kol och olja, där restprodukterna försvinner ut i atmosfären, och frågan är om det är ett bra ställe att lagra dem på ?

Från en kärnreaktor får vi ett radioaktivt avfall, men det är hanterbart, och det är dessutom den enda restprodukten vi får. 

Betänk nu också att de RödGröna talar om solidaritet, om att ta ansvar för kommande generationer, och för våra grannar nära och lång borta. 

Vad betyder ordet solidaritet... 

Solidaritet (av latinets solidum, hela summan, kapitalet) innebär att kollektivt och gemensamt ta ansvar för något, inbördes gemenskap, att i egenskap av del av en grupp verka hänsynsfullt utan egenintresse för denna grupps bästa.( Saxat från Wikipedia )

Jag kan inte komma på något bättre sätt att vara Solidarisk med vår omvärld än att tillåta vidare forskning på ämnet kärnkraft. En forskning som förhoppningsvis kan leda till att vi kan hjälpa våra medmänniskor genom att omhänderta deras kärnavfall, som i sin tur blir våra reaktorers bränsle. Och dessutom kan vi i det läget exportera elström, som förhoppningsvis resulterar i att länderna i vår omgivning kan dra ner på sin kol och oljekraft. Vi känner oss säkrare, och miljöpåverkan blir mindre.

Som en liten fotnot undrar jag lite över en sak som bland annat Mona Sahlin har uttryckt, hon menade att Moderaterna är ett millionärsparti. Jag misstänker att de flesta inser absurditeten i det uttalandet. Men om du som läsare inte gör det, så skulle jag uppskatta om du kunde hålla ögonen öppna efter mina miljoner, för jag måste ha förlagt dem någonstans, måste faktisk tillstå att jag inte har något minne av dem över huvud taget. Men om det nu är så det är att man måste vara millionär för att vara Moderat, så dikterar logiken att måste jag ha förlagt dem. 

Reach for the sky, or ocean rather !

It has been a few quite eventful weeks. 

I do have a tendency to overdo things, yet, in the long run, I think the positive effects outdo the negative ones. It has been a blast, manoeuvring exercises, meteorology, administration, case studies. I know for a fact, what I want to do in the future. I will probably try to find myself a job on a big company, outside of Europe, to get my wings... Or sails rather ;-)

But once I have grown my own sails, I will return to the costal trade because the best thing with this job, is the manoeuvring, to become one with the ship. To know her, and her quirks, and guide her to where I want her to go.

One is never better then the ship you are  guiding, yet, one can strive to ever improve on one's skill.  I guess that this is one of my many faults, I have a need to improve on myself no matter what. I never settle for what is good enough, even if I might say so to people who might be listening.

Life is a steep learning curve, and I try to climb a few step each day.

The silence is no more ! ;-)

I've been silent for quite some time, been participating in an other blog.

Since the 14th of August 2009 quite a bit has happened.

I've managed to fall deeply in love and move together with a lovely girl,

but after some months we decided that we just might have pushed things forward

just a bit too fast. So we decided to part our ways whilst we are good friends.

I guess it is the natural order of things, nevertheless it is not fun, not fun at all...

The past year has been something of a rollercoaster.
By my own fault I managed to become "in between jobs".
So I have spent my summer refurbishing my parents house instead.

I have kept myself quite busy, yet it is not the same as being at work.

But, I've finished yet another of the years in Kalmar. ;-)

And the last of those years starts the 17th of August,
in other words, not that many days left ;-)

But before I go back to Kindergarten, I will accompany my parents to Norway,
and to be more precise Hurtigrutten. We will go by ship, M/S Nordnorge,
from Kirkenes to Bergen. My cameras are prepared, got a new tripod,
an extra telephoto lens, and my father got a new Xanti VPC CG100.

So hopefully I will have a lot of photographic material to share with the world
when we get back, or even during the trip,
it all depends on time and the possibilities on the ship.

Waiting times...

This has been a fairly nice spring after all, life have it's ups and downs, but altogether life have been fair to me. At the moment I am waiting for a phone call, the phone call. That will tell me where and when I will go to work.

I look forward to it, I really need to get a change of scenery, and of course improve upon my economy. This year did not start the way I was hoping, but the change might be for the best in the long run. Furthermore time has really been flying, so before I know it, this year will be a dim and distant memory.

School has been very interesting this year, I learnt a lot of new things, and that's always great. It, sort of, brings meaning to this life I am living at the moment. So far, all exams have gone well, still waiting on the result of the last one though, but I am hoping for the best.

I might be home for a longer time that I initially thought. If so, I have to get me some more victuals. It's a bit tricky to live both economical and healthy, even if I do my very best, they don't always coincide.

Simple life

I bought a rosé wine today out of curiosity, AUSSIE - Flamingo Blush (nr 6452), and I got pleasantly surprised. Is a lovely wine to brighten up a rainy day, or to enjoy on a sunny balcony. It is not that sweet, but its just sweet enough, for a rosé wine.

The last exam-period for the term are about to start, fingers crossed...

And after that I will go back to work, or to be more precise M/T Ramira, I look forward to have a new ship, a lot of new things to learn. And as part of my summer I will try to read up on Astronomical Navigation and Morse. So that I will have a head start on next term.

There is light in the other end of the tunnel, I see it, and I long for it !

A new, real life worth living, and share with those I love and hold dear.

Quiet

Well, been quite quiet for a few weeks, and I guess that I dont have that much to write about sometimes. I look forward to the end of this term, and the possibility to go to sea, and work again. It is sort of depressing to see your savings slowly diminish.

Spring is here though, life is just a triffle of a bit brighter and enjoyable.

It feels like springtime, its about 15 ° C and sunny !

And today, at last I got the last results from the last examination period,

and it was a pass !

So my comfort gift to myself became a "well done gift".

Now I am going out, but only to the balcony, to continue my reading...

Spring !

After a rather gloomy morning, the afternoon have been just lovely.
A taste of spring, sunshine, its a bit windy, but still lovely.

Somehow it feels like anything is possible this time of year,
all dreams seem to be closer at hand. They might just come true !

The sunshine is lifting my spirit !

And since it is soon to be springtime, I feel some heat building in my bloodstream.
My reaction to the song that won the Swedish Eurovision Song Contest was rather strong.

I really like the lyrics, even if my French is rather rusty,
I think I understand it, the way its meant to be understood.

And it makes my think of my loved one, the better half ;-)
Anything that reminds me of her must be good ! ;-)

Feeling a little bit dispirited...

For some reason, life is a gloomy, grey and rather unpleasant experience.
The only thing one can do, is to make most out of it.
It seldom turn out the way one was hoping for.

But still, everything is relative, someone's loss is someone else's gain.

To quote a fairly well known penguin :

'Smile and wave boys, just smile and wave ! '

So far I think the exams have gone fairly well, so that is not the problem.
And even if it were, it is so easy to repair any damage done to one's grades,
just redo the exam and the problem is solved.

Life is a totally different matter.

Sometimes when one hear a lyric, everything comes back to you, and this lyric and I have a past together. Or rather the emotions the lyric evocate, its strange, it does not get any easier as time goes by, quite the opposite !

Another weekend, awfully quiet, not in the sense of sound, but in feeling...
I just had a lovely chicken curry, and usually food cheers me up, but it must be the gloomy weather that affects me. Really feel like crawling to bed and stay there till spring !

Next week is going to be another short one, and give me time for more unconcentrated studies. Its just, well, I think I need a change of scenery, and in a few month ill hopefully go back to sea for some time. Its probably going to be a time of reconversion, but still I am in great need of a change of scenery.

It will all turn out for the best, in due time, or so I tell myself !

Now it is time for a nice cup of green tea...
And a bit of classical music, some relaxation, after all it is Saturday !

Out of Cacao !

It's a total disaster,
it all started with me oversleeping big time !
I had a small brunch a few cups of coffee,
got started with today's work.


I also got to see a episode of "Shaun the sheep" its sooo cute... ;)

To be honest I got a great deal done, and was rather pleased with my self.

Until now !

I decided to make myself a banana sponge cake, and could not decide if i should go with frosting or not. A friend suggested that I should go with chocolate frosting, and I thought after some thought that it would be perfect !

But no !!!

I am out of cacao, its a disaster... Or maybe, not... ;- )

Its been a good day altogether ;)

Out there the howling wind is freezing !

First of all, Malwas 20th birthday celebration was a big success !
I think I managed to stay away from all cameras, but I did get a few good photos, that I sent to endlessnessego a.k.a. Misha. " Tnx for the recognition, I realized that I altogether got around 650 photos that evening, not a very good success procent ... ;-) "

Another fun thing happened this weekend, my mum, who always try to point out my youth, told me something quite funny. On my 18'th birthday I got a navyblue Club Blazer, I still have it, and use it from time to time. This Weekend was one of the times.
Anyway, my mother pointed out that I have had good use of it, for a long time, quote 'for you are soon to be 30 after all'. She is precious... But for someone like me, who feel a great deal older the my physical age, that quote was rather fun.

Well, when I went back to Nybro I got problems with my mothers car, so I had to back to Norrköping. First I was thinking that I might be able to take the train, back to Nybro, but I could not afford it. And to be perfectly honest I did not feel like staying the night and go directly to school in Kalmar early in the morning. So I took my car, and a few hours later I was back 'Home'.

I have been in a rather blue fashion for about a year, and I gather it makes for rather hollow bloggposts. And for those of you that are a very real part of my life, I do know that, I am not, what you would say is, "myself". The paramount reason for this is that I feel like I am sort of missing my better half. So bear with me on my hollowness, I hope, that 2009 will give me the understanding I need to know where I should go from here.

Enough of self pity and dreams divorced from reality.
This year has only begun, it can only get better, right !?
